Farm & Frills is hosting another great show today,  

in the Enumclaw Expo Center.

Yoo hoo...is anyone still there?

 

I know it's been a long time since my last post...

but it's been a whirlwind of a year. 

• Porter Antiques closed (home of my 58 Vintage Faire booth) 
• So I opened 'Vintage Garden' in the front of the florist
• Moved my Home & Work Space
• Hosted the 2nd Annual 'Witches Night Out in Enumclaw"
• The florist took a surprisingly sudden retirement...so...
• I closed the Vintage Garden
• Moved everything between storage & home 
• Home now equals Warehouse!
• Kept up my real job and 'gave them a few hours' to get some projects done
• Hiatus needed and taken

I'm getting 'back in the saddle' again...

and feeling very energized as I consider the right place to share my treasure:    

 I've submitted applications to local shows and 

I've put my name on the waiting list of a new Antique Mall in the area.

When I opened the 'Vintage Garden',  

I chose that name to support the association with the Florist, 

but now I'm transitioning everything back to '58 Vintage Faire'.

I've contacted FB and should soon see the name change there too,

 but for nowyou can still follow me on FB via

Vintage Garden, Enumclaw

I'll let you know when and where it all 'lands'.

In the mean time,

to help fight Leukemia 

in honor and memory of our cousin Greg.

Don (always Donny to me) brought the Vintage Fire Truck to the Vintage Faire!

 Hannah was at the entrance this year.

 

Denice & Anne joined forces.

Missed Opportunity Comes Round Again

Last spring a couple of lovely Junk'enistas

 threw a 'party' in my neighborhood.

They hosted their Farm & Frill Vintage Market 

at Genesis Farm just outside Enumclaw.

Well, because I was away from my blog,

 I missed the opportunity to send them a hearty welcome, 

but I'm not missing that opportunity this time.

 
  

They are returning to Genesis Farm 

with a fall 'party' on September 28th.

If you're in the area, I hope you drop by...

If you're not in the area, consider making the trip, 

the PNW is a great place to visit in the Autumn.

If you do make it to Farm & Frill, 

swing into town, stop by the shop

and show us your treasure! 

 By then the Matrons will be dressed for the

2nd Annual Witches Night Out in Enumclaw.

Another event you should plan to attend.

This year it will be on October 12th.

I'll post more as the details are finalized,

but I can tell you...

 it will be howling good time!

We had a great turnout for our Vintage Faire.

People were lined up before the opening;  

 friendly and enthusiastic.

After all the hard work, 

it was wonderful to have this great response.

It's hard to believe 5 days have passed already.  

I'll post more pictures when I get them from the others...

because I got distracted and didn't get pictures of everything..

and personally I think we had some very cute displays!

 This is Greg & Don on Don's Wedding Day.

Greg was our cousin 

who lost his battle with Lymphoma several years ago.

Don participates in this climb every spring in Greg's honor; 

raising money to help find a cure.

Don now has a nice 'chunk of change' toward his next climb.

How does a date grow wings?

It seems that July 14th is flying toward me.

I'm excited about the things we have planned for the

 Vintage Faire.

Don (he'll always be Donny to me)

will be able to bring the Old Buckly Fire Truck,

so we will be able to take pictures of kids 

(or kids at heart).

It also reinforces the fact that a portion of the proceeds

will be for Lymphoma & Leukemia Research.

The other thing I've decided to do is 'sell'

 my 2 old wringer washers as 

Silent Auctions for the Charity.

One will finish at the end of Vintage Faire

 and the other will continue through 

the next Saturday and and end at the

Enumclaw Street Fair.

 I'm still working on furniture 

and will have pix of those items soon. 

Sometimes just getting the pictures edited

 and in the computer 

takes as long as making something for the sale.

I'm taking vacation the week before the Vintage Faire, 

so should have more time for both!

However, since I needed to get going on CL posts for the sale, I did get a few pix done for this post.

  

 

 I know it seems blurry...

it's really a special effect

 that loses something at this small size!

This is a very old rocking frame...

wood pegs securing the arms and caning. 

I stained it, threaded jute cord thru the caning holes 

and of course 

added a chicken wire flower basket in the seat.  

After planting, it needed something...

so I made the burlap flower.  

I just kinda fussed around and like how it turned out.  

(If I do a any more, I'll be sure and post some pix and directions.)

   

 It also needed a little something more 

down in the dirt when the petunias were small.   

Those are fema-eggs in the little nested flower pot. 

 The flowers have grown and about cover it now,  

but it will be there when they die back and 

leave the chair with a little something thru the winter. 

I moved those fencing pieces across my drive as a backdrop for setting out 'yard art'  I'll have at Vintage Faire....

but I'm liking it there...

Maybe it will become a permanent 'display'!
